The best thing about living in the North of Scotland has to be the accessibility to some of the most astonishing landscapes available. Beinn Dearg is less than 40 minutes drive from my front door, and is a relatively straight forward climb.
The climb itself takes around 2 1/2 hours, and meanders up until the trail splits for the final ascent following the wall up to the summit. For a day in May its amazing just now much snow is left at the top of the hill, before you even approach the summit, hidden in the folds of the hill banks of snow still sit proud of the rock and moss surrounds.
I met a man during the climb who was returning from the summit tucked in behind Beinn Dearg, the peak which sits alone. He had one piece of advice for me, which i think is worth taking note of for many a climb to come:
My goal is to deliver the best creative imagery and video content possible. Based in the Highlands of Scotland photography, film and image making have been a large part of my life for the last 15 years. It gives me a reason to travel, a opportunity for adventure and way of cataloging life as it passes us by.
